Irene Pickard

Irene Pickard passed away in the early morning of May 27, 2022 in Santa Cruz Valley Regional Hospital, Arizona. She had been visiting her son Joe and his wife Mary in Green Valley, Arizona.

Irene was born April 13,1929 in Chicago, Illinois, but spent her life in the Traverse City area since the age of four.

Irene is survived by her sons John (Peggy) Pickard of Traverse City, Michigan and Joseph (Mary Jo) Pickard of Green Valley, Arizona, five grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Homan of Traverse City and Mary Ellen Johnson of Grand Rapids, and brother, Richard Payne of Traverse City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Anna Payne; brothers, George and Martin Payne; her husband, Norman Pickard and daughter, Joyce Slater.

Irene enjoyed flower gardening, reading, playing Euchre with her friends and especially spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held 1pm, Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Church of the Living God, 1514 Brimley Rd., Traverse City. The family will greet friend starting at 12 noon.
