Jack “Hox” Hoxie of Suttons Bay, passed away January 3, 2020 at the age of 91.

He was born on September 16, 1928 in Royal Oak to the late Oliver and Mildred Hoxie.

He was a graduate of Wayne State University. He retired as a manufacturer Representative. Prior to that, Jack traveled to Alaska to work for US Fish and Wildlife Services.

Jack will be remembered as a kind and generous man. You knew you were in his good graces if you received a “Hopes” Cheesecake for Christmas, “Zenners” tomato, or maybe one of his trunkful of Melons in the summer.

A proud Bachelor, Jack loved the game of golf and the camaraderie of his friends both in Michigan and Orange Beach, Alabama. He was a large supporter of the Evan’s Scholarship Foundation and Michigan Golf Association.

His true pride was his home he built and the solitude of his property he shared with his wildlife friends.

Preceding Jack includes his parents, brother’s Russell and Rodger.

He is survived by his brother and friend, Richard (the other Hox) and his lifelong friend (brother from another mother) Robert (Laverne) MacMasters, as well as nieces; nephews and numerous friends.

Honoring Jack’s wishes, cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.

If one chooses, memorials may be made in Jack’s name to the Western Golf Association, Evans Scholars Foundation, online at https://www.stlwga.com/ or 2501 Patriot Blvd, Glenview, IL 60026-8022 or charity of choice.
