Jack Edwin Weathers 64 of Mesick died Thursday, October 15, 2009.
Jack was fondly known as “AWOL” was born on March 31, 1945 in Traverse City the son of Edwin Jack and Evelyn Lucille (Brooks) Weathers.
He was in the military for a brief time.
Jack was employed with JW Kraus Inc. for over 30 years and previously worked with Perfect Fence Co. He enjoyed his family and friends, especially have a beer with them at his Cabin. He had a good marriage, was jolly, fun, well liked by many and enjoyed hunting especially during deer season.
Jack is a member of the Interlochen Eagles.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jackie (Zink) Weathers; they were married on November 26, 1987 in Traverse City, children, Misty (Kris Konyndyk) and their son, Conor, Carla (Tony) Perkins and their children, Melody, Alli, and Cole, Don Weathers, now stationed in California after his tour in Afghanistan, Aaron (Harmony) Weathers and their children, Abby, Lilly, and Noah and sons, Jack and Gary Weathers, his parents, Edwin and Evelyn Weathers, brothers, Rod (Sandie) Weathers and Duane Weathers of New Mexico.
Jack is preceded in death by his son, Brian and daughter, Jackie Sue and brother, Bill Weathers.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Interlochen Eagles, where a luncheon will follow.
