James Ernest Blonshine, 73 of Traverse City, died Saturday, November 19, 2016.
He was born on September 30, 1943 in Traverse City the son of Frances (Harrigan) Blonshine.
James was employed with the Traverse City State Hospital and retired after 23 years of service. After retirement James and his wife, Sharon owned and operated the Arnold Concession and traveled with Arnold Amusement to fairs and festivals.
He loved to deer hunt with Sharon, camp with family, friends and his dog, Patsy.
James is survived by his wife, Sharon (Arnold) Blonshine; they were married on April 14, 1997 in Traverse City; son, Timothy Blonshine; brothers, Dick (Diane) Blonshine of Zephyrhills, Florida and Bob (Charlette) Blonshine of Maple City, Tom (Cris) Blonshine, Mike (Debbie) Blonshine and Denny (Renee) of Traverse City, Jack Blonshine of Tennessee, sisters-in-law, Linda (Terry) Fasel, Nancy Arnold of Traverse City, and Kim (Rockie) Wicker; brothers-in-law, George Arnold and Mark Arnold of St. John's.
He is preceded in death by his mother, infant daughter, Tressa Blonshine; brothers, Howard Dale, Harold and Frederick Blonshine; sisters, Shirley and Mary Lou and father-in-law, George L. Arnold.
Visitation will be held 3pm to 7pm Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Life Story Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11am, Friday, November 25th at Life Story Funeral Home; where the family will greet friends starting at 10am. Memorial Contributions may be made to Munson Hospice.
