James Heethuis

Traverse City- James H Heethuis, born February 27, 1953 died at the age of 67 on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

Jim is survived by his two children; Daniel J Heethuis, Mitchell T Heethuis, and his grandchildren.

From a young age, Jim was always a high energy person who loved being outdoors. While still in high school, he achieved victories in both wrestling and football. He was awarded a football scholarship at Central Michigan University where he was an integral part of the 1974 National Championship football team. He was a respected businessman for Bristol-Myers Squibb where he was a Bristol's best member and gained prestige as a 11 time legion of excellence salesman.

James was a devoted father, and spoke highly of his two boys. He will be remembered to some as Coach Heethuis, Big Jim, Papa H, and Heeth. He was outgoing, always had an entertaining story to tell, had a contagious laugh, and was a pillar of strength for those who had the honor to know him.
