James D. Morrison, 88, of Frostproof Florida, formerly of Traverse City, passed away April 17, 2019.

James was born in Hillman, MI. the son of James and Edna (Werner) Morrison.

He married Eleanor Ella Schulien in Nuremberg Germany 1953.

He was a United States Veteran serving in the Army.

James is survived by his wife, Betty (Hervey) Morrison; married in 2001; children, Dale (Cindy) Morrison, Gloria (Bob) Mosher, Jeff (Pam) Morrison, James Morrison, and Thomas Morrison; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Harriet) Morrison, sisters, Barbara Shields, Delores “Dee” Schenburg, and Geri Sauls; sisters-in-law, Sue Morrison, and Nancy Morrison. Step-children, Eddie (Bonita) Hervey, Lynn (Roger) Lemke, Greg (Virginia) Hervey, Jeff (Ronda) Hervey.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife; 2 brothers; 2 grandsons and son in-law.

An informal gathering will be held at noon Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Life Story Funeral Home, 400 W Hammond Rd., Traverse City MI; with a brief ceremony at 1:00pm. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, with light luncheon following at VFW on Veterans Drive.

All who knew James were aware of his love for his family, woodworking, and music. Many gatherings with family and family, were entertained by James and his guitar.
