Life Story / Obituary
Jane Andree Webb (nee Serra), born in Detroit on March 7, 1941, became our family’s guardian angel in the final hour of her 68th wedding anniversary in Traverse City on April 26, 2026, at 85 years young, with her beloved husband Jimmy by her side.
Growing up the eldest of 5 children in Garden City, Michigan, Jane lived a robust life of work, art and family. She served as medic, hair dresser, and taught challenged teenagers vocational education skills for many years for the Livonia public schools. Jane was a master painter, quilter, wood worker, chef, and creator of “Dolls with Attitude.” She loved holidays, especially Christmas, creating Santa figures with profound old-world character, and the Fourth of July.
Above all, Jane loved her husband of 68 years, James Archie Webb, whom she married in Detroit on April 26, 1958, her brothers and sisters, children, grand-children, great grand-children, nieces and nephews. She delighted in them all, having a special place in her heart for the little ones, and spent time joyfully visiting with them all during the final days of her life.
Jane is survived by her husband, James Archie Webb, her children Robin Webb-Bransky (Jim), James Archie Webb, and Michael Webb (Rose), 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews, sisters Rosie Johnston (Ron) and Beverly Ohsowski (Richard dec), and brothers Jim Serra (Vicky) and Ricky Serra.
She was preceded in death by her mother Andree Serra (nee Reiss) and father Emilio “Mike” Serra.
A life celebration will be held on Sunday, May 10 at Life Story Funeral Home, 400 W Hammond Rd, Traverse City, MI 49686, with visiting and light lunch starting at 1:30 PM, service at 3:00 PM.
