Jeannette Renee “Jenny” Steinhoff, 21 of Traverse City, died Sunday, October 5, 2025 at her home. She was born on June 14, 2004 in Dallas, Texas.

Jenny was a full-time Student at the Life Skills Center. She attended the Through the Roof Ministries and New Hope Community Church.

Jenny loved being outside, sitting and soaking up the sun, watching people, watching the cars go by, watching for the bus. Loved going for rides in the car. Jenny always loved music and at a very young age would tap her hand in rhythm to her own beat. She had several kids’ songs that she would listen to, holding her listening device up to her ear. Bear Necessities was her favorite and would ask for it repeatedly. She loved her musical toys, especially her “piggy” which was actually a glo worm. Jenny hated our vacuum cleaner, but she would come home asking for “vacuum”. We found out she would listen to a vacuum on YouTube to help her relax at school. Her favorite place was Ludington Beach. As soon as she was set down in the sand she would “crab” to the water and lay down with her face in the water to let the waves splash in her face. When she was done she would join us on the beach and lay on her towel and take a nap.

Jenny was a very happy sweet girl with a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She also had a silly monster voice. She had a very determined personality

She is survived by her parents, Marla Jean Clark, (formerly Steinhoff and Kline) and Lawrence “Larry William Clark of Traverse City; siblings, Russell “Rusty” Eugene Steinhoff Jr., Jason Floyd Steinhoff, Sarah Louise (Steinhoff) and her husband, Joshua “Josh” Michael Sheridan, Andrew Isaiah Steinhoff, Jacob Daniel Steinhoff and Olivia Lane Steinhoff, cousins, Taylor Lee (Sheridan) Gibbert and her husband, Kaleb Michael Gibbert, Madison “Maddy” Sheridan and Benjamin “Ben” Connor Reid and her previous Texas loving Foster Mother, Jeannette Goodman.

She was preceded in death by her previous Texas Foster Father, Jim Goodman.

Contributions may be made to the Through the Roof Disability Family Camp in Roscommon, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 3, 2026 at New Hope Community Church. Jenny’s cremated remains will be scattered at a later date.
