It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joe (Joseph) Vaclavik Jr., of Traverse City, who passed away on March 8th, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on June 30, 1970, in Ludington, Joe was the son of Joseph Vaclavik and Arissa Barber.

Joe spent his entire career in the construction industry, where he took pride in working with his hands and helping others. He was known for his good heart, his willingness to lend a hand to anyone—friend or stranger—and his quiet generosity. Joe loved being outdoors, building birdhouses, fishing, and spending time with the people he cared about. His greatest joy in life was his wife, Tina.

Joe is survived by his father, Joseph (Lois) Vaclavik; his brother, Chris (Lisa) Vaclavik; his sister, Janelle Vaclavik; his grandmother, Pauline Barber; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tina Anderson‑Vaclavik; his mother, Arissa Barber; his grandfather, Dale Barber; his grandmother, Clarissa (Spencer) Barber; his grandfather, Virgil Vaclavik; and his grandmother, June Vaclavik.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
