John "Douglas" Reichert

John Douglas Reichert passed away January 26th, 2025 surrounded by those he loved. Born July 16th, 1955 in Columbus Ohio, he was raised with a strong purpose and a tireless work ethic. In 1993 he started Reichert Construction Inc. Under his guidance, the company grew from a one man show to a trusted leader in residential and commercial building in the community. His professional accomplishments were many, but he will be remembered most for his mentorship and genuine commitment to his employees, colleagues and clients.

Beyond his professional life, Doug’s true pride was his family. He was a caring father and grandfather who was quick to share his wisdom, humor and unwavering support. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking and cruising around looking for deer.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, John (Zelma) Reichert; mother, Pauline Vecellio; sister, Linda Reichert, and stepbrother Jerry Campbell.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Reichert; son, John “Mark” Reichert; grandsons, Reed Reichert, Cash and Ace Piatt; stepfather, Robert Vecellio, and significant other Cherryl Lilley.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 2-5pm at The Fraternal Order of Eagles 409 W. 14th St. where we will share stories and memories of his well lived journey. Please come as you are, he wouldn’t want anyone to dress up.
