John Earl Kipfmueller, 80, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was born on June 12, 1945, to Earl LeRoy and Josephine Eleanor (Eggleston) Kipfmueller in Owosso, Michigan.

He graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1964 and then Ferris State University in 1967.

John married Carol Ann Kuerbitz on June 24, 1967, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Tawas City, Michigan. They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage together.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, classic cars, Street Rods, spending winters in Florida, and spoiling his grandchildren. He took special pride in his 1933 Cherry 5 Window Coupe Street Rod. He was a safety inspector for the NHRA- National Hot Rod Association.

John worked at General Motors for 33 years as a Stationary Engineer.

He never met a stranger. He was a friend to all. John was quick-witted, kindhearted, willing to help anyone, shared his time, talent and resources with anyone. He never turned his back on a single person. A true gentleman.

John is survived by his wife, Carol Kipfmueller; sons, Scott and Cathy (Minnick) Kipfmueller, Jeffrey Kipfmueller, Mark and Amy (Petzold) Kipfmueller; grandchildren, Grace and Clayton Kipfmueller.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Gary Bessey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Traverse City, or Hospice of Michigan.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11am on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Michael Goers officiating. The family will greet friends at 10am. A luncheon will follow.
