John Yoder

John David Yoder. 55 of Kalkaska died March 4, 2025 and was born on April 11, 1969 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Fred and Right (Gregory) Yoder. He formerly lived in Florida and Grayling, Michigan

He married Laurie Christle Durga on February 21, 2012 in Traverse City at the Pine Grove Church of God.

John worked for 24 years at Camp Grayling as a Locksmith and in Carpentry.

He loved traveling to Mexico and Africa on mission trips and he loved talking about God, working around the church or for anybody that needed it. John enjoyed being behind the camera and not in front. Nature was his happy place whether hiking or kayaking. He was always working with his hands doing photography, epoxy, fractal art and anything, you name it.

He mostly loved spending time with friends and family especially his grandchildren

John is survived by his wife, Laurie Yoder; sisters, Susan Clemmer (Phil Clemmer), Elsie McKenney (Dave McKenney); brother, Donald Yoder (Shelley Rose); daughters, Emma Helen Yoder (Kohl Gill). Abby RoseMarie Yoder (George Gibeau); sons, Jordan Durga (Lizzy Durga)

Demetrious Kirksey (Marie Barnes) and 8 grandchildren

He is preceded in death parents, Fred and Ruth Yoder and sister, Sharon Luke.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Pine Grove Church, designate Missions.

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Pine Grove Church of God. The family will greet friends starting at 2:00 pm.
