Joyce Drabek

Joyce Arlene Drabek, 87, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She was born on August 6, 1936 in West Branch the daughter of Lester H. and Evelyn (Hanks) Brewer.

She married Gerald Drabek in October 1955. Joyce was the Manager at their Bakery for many years. She also retired as Manager from the Meijer Cafeteria after 12 years of service to the community.

Joyce loved fishing, hunting, sewing, housekeeping, yardwork and spending time with her family. She especially loved raising her two boys and being with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Thomas (Julie) Drabek and Wally (Peggy) Drabek; grandchildren, Nathan (Alexis) Drabek, Justin Drabek, Kyle (Sydney) Drabek and Molly (Jason) Kwasky; great-grandchildren, Francis, Laurel, Jonathan, Trey, Remi, Boyd and Luke; siblings, Willis Brewer, Raymond Brewer, Robert Brewer, Douglas Brewer, Gregory Brewer, Andrew Brewer and Clara Ann Clark; step-grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Micheal, Cassie, Bailey and Conner, and best friends, Robin Bisel and Jannautl Fercdowsi and former husband, Robert Serschen.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald T. Drabek, son, Michael Drabek and brother, Arnold Brewer.

Memorial Contributions may be made to a special charity of your choice or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
