Life Story / Obituary
Joyce Louise (Snider) Perski, 94, of Traverse City went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 11, 2022. She was born March 25, 1928, in Alpena, the daughter of the late John and Edna (Mills) Snider.
Joyce was born and raised in Alpena. After graduating high school, she moved to Manistee and was married and had four children. She later divorced and remarried her true love and had one more son before her husband passed away from cancer.
Joyce was married to the late John William Kukla and then remarried to the love of her life, the late, Eugene Arnold Perski. She never remarried after Eugene died and devoted her life to her children. For a fresh start they moved to Traverse City where she lived out the rest of her life. She worked at Munson Hospital as a nurse with a career of 25 years.
When she retired, she had a house on the lake with a motor home to roam in. Joyce was a strong and very independent woman. She was so devoted and part of her children’s lives, always there. Joyce loved her children and would do anything for them. Family trips included Cedar Point, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, as well as other parks and areas around Michigan. Her favorite times were when the kids and grandkids came over for a dip in the lake or a boat ride to the island for a picnic.
She leaves behind her four children; John William (Cheryl) Kukla, Jean Lee Kukla (David) Dresnak, Gary Arnold (Barbara) Kukla, and Terry Eugene Perski, grandchildren; John (Dawn), Daniel (Emily), Debbie (Brad), Jennifer (Greg), Lisa, Jason, Amanda (Christopher), Kristal, Brittany, and Megan. She had ten great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her siblings; Nancy Snider, Shirley (Russ) Armstrong, and Robert (Margery) Snider, her son; Robert “Bob” Eugene (Shirley) Kukla.
Per her wishes, there will be no public memorial. The family chose Life Story Funeral Home.
