Joyce L. Wilson, 94, passed away on Saturday, May 30. Joyce was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada on June 20, 1925. She grew up and resided in Cleveland, Ohio, were she met and married a neighborhood boy, Bertrand Wilson. During the summer, Joyce returned to Bracebridge, Canada, where her family owned islands on Muskoka Lake. This tradition continued for many years until Bert and Joyce bought property on Manistee Lake, Kalkaska, Michigan where the family enjoyed many summers on the lake. Bert and Joyce retired there and finally moved to Traverse City in their later years. They also wintered in Sebring Florida.

Joyce and Bert were married June 4, 1944, in Euclid, Ohio. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. Joyce enjoyed life and was always busy. She loved her church, Bible study, reading, water sports, bingo, and snow skiing. Her faith was strong, and she never waivered from her focus on Christ. Joyce's greatest concern was that her chiildren, grandchidren, and great grandchildren find Christ and serve Him.

She is survived by three children: Bertrand Craig (Sallie) Wilson, Alan (Tamra) Wilson, and Hope (Jerry) Bernard; grandchildren: Bertrand Craig Jr., Brandi, Kyle, Rory, Brennan, Nolyn, Quinton, Alanna, and Kelsey, along with nine great grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Bert, in 2004, daughter, Karen Michelle, age 6, of polio in 1952, and grandson Britt , age 3, in 2004.
