Judy was born on December 16, 1941 to Willard C and Katharine Mabel Pettit in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.

Judy graduated from Port Austin High School in 1959. She united in marriage to Franklin Delano Sorna on August 3, 1963 at St Rita’s Catholic Church in Detroit, MI. She loved him unconditionally for 60 years. Together they had three children, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, whom she devoutly loved. In 1968 Judy and Frank moved to Karlin, Michigan to start what became their life long family business.

Judy loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, reading, shopping, and baking. She especially loved to play cards, board games and do puzzles. Judy was a gentle soul with a servant's heart and was powerfully kind and compassionate. She is loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like express their gratitude to Hospice of Michigan for their exceptional kindness and care.

At her request, she has been cremated and there will be a private family service at a later date. In her memory, please direct any donations to Michael’s Place (https://www.mymichaelsplace.net/giving-opportunities/) or Traverse Rotary Born to Read (https://www.rotaryborntoread.org).
