Katherine Hedelund

Katherine Louise Hedelund, 78, of Traverse City, died Monday, October 16, 2023. She was born on August 19, 1945 in Evanston, Illinois the daughter of Charles Albert and Virginia Clark (Dickson) Hedelund.

She graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in 1965.

Katherine moved to Traverse City and worked as an Inventory Clerk with Goodwill Industries. She attended Grace Episcopal Church.

She was a Native of Saugatuck, Michigan. As a child she liked to Canoe on the Kalamazoo River. In the summers they would spend the Summer at the home in Grand Beach, Michigan. Katherine loved swimming in Lake Michigan and climbing the Sand Dunes.

She was a lover of animals, especially Cats and Newts also known as a Salamander.

Katherine was well known for giving her family and friends special nicknames.

Katherine is survived by her brother, John (Teresita) Hedelund of Henderson, Nevada; nephews, Victor Ramos, Alexander Hedelund, Mark (Michael Campbell) Hedelund and niece, Joyce (Michael) Guerrero.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virgina.

A celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
