Linda Jean Dittmer, 69 of Traverse City, died Sunday, November 15, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on November 18, 1950 in Detroit, the daughter of Max Gene and Julienne Hildegarde (Justin) Witherow Sikorski.

Linda graduated from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores in 1968. She later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University in Journalism and Photography. Linda worked for the Detroit News in Photojournalism. She was also a Freelance Photographer for the majority of her life. She took many photos of famous people and bands, which include one of her favorites Paul McCartney.

She moved to Traverse City with her son in 2002. Linda was a member of the Lighthouse Church of God.

Linda was a very artistic person. She enjoyed spending time with family kayaking, hiking, rock hunting, taking photos of landscape and architecture, and making arts and crafts with her grandchildren. Linda loved being with her grandchildren; they were her life and gave her so much joy.

Linda is survived by her son, Jesse (fiancé, Bree Adams); grand children, Julian and Naqkara Dittmer and Aveena Burton; siblings, Kathy (Don) Levin and Victoria (Fred) Myer both of Reno, Nevada, Laura Sikorski of Denver, Colorado and John Witherow of Oakhurst, California; special niece, Brittany Burton and special nephew, Kristian Burton and former husband, caregiver and best friend, Dennis Dittmer and all the cousins she dearly loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Daniel Witherow.

A celebration of her life will be held 3pm, Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the Church of the Living God. The family will greet friends starting at 2pm.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
