Linda Garvin

Linda (Moulton) Garvin 78 years young of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Sunday November 12, 2023 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. Linda’s family was around her when she slipped away peacefully.

Linda was born on May 13, 1945 in Traverse City, Michigan. She was born to Foryce Moulton and Maurine Moulton (Sanford) with whom she shared a birthday. Both preceded her in death. Linda was also preceded in death by her sisters, Helyne Pennell and Ruth Morgan and her husband Don Garvin.

Linda is survived by her sweet dog Cricket, three daughters, Erin Brady (LaShawn Shepherd) - Chicago IL, Shannon Brady - Traverse City, and Kortnee (Bill) Bagley - Traverse City, brother-in-law James Pennell - Traverse City. Grandchildren Sarah (Roger), Shane (Cassie), Maurine (Jon), Darbi (Dean), Sean, and Elijah. Great-grandson, Brayden and Devin-James who is due in February. Her grandfather built the first home on the corner of 9th Street & Division in 1894 on a lot purchased from Perry Hannah.

As a teenager she worked at the movie theater in downtown Traverse City and spent much time at the roller rink under the theater. She loved to reminisce about the “old days.” Later, she helped open Meijer where she worked for over twenty years as a cashier before retiring.

Linda enjoyed camping with her kids, traveling to the UP, collecting salts and numerous other antiques.

She was devoted to her dog, daughters, and very much loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild, She is deeply missed.

A Memorial service will take place at a later date.
