Louise Korson

Louise Marie (Ritter) Korson, 85, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1940 in Traverse City, the daughter of Willard Tomas and Isabelle Anna (Knieper) Ritter. She graduated from St. Francis Catholic High School.

She formerly resided in Muskegon and Freeland, Michigan. Louise married Richard Korson on October 17, 1959 in Traverse City.

Lousie retired as the Housekeeping Manager with the Waterfront Hotel in Traverse City.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Williamsburg; where she was in the Choir for many years, and formerly of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Freeland.

Louise enjoyed flowers, vegetable gardening, reading, enjoying backyard nature on her deck, barbequing, cooking, and holiday decorating.

Louise is survived by: her children Michael Korson, Karen Korson and Jeffery Korson;

2 grandsons; siblings Joan (Scheidel) Korson, Beverly (Ritter) Rooney, Kenneth Ritter and Dennis Ritter; along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband Richard Korson; son Mark Korson; and siblings Barbara Ritter, D’Arcy Ritter and Roger Ritter.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or St. Francis Catholic Church.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Williamsburg. The family will greet friends starting at 10:00 am. Burial will be in the Oakwood Catholic Cemetery, Traverse City.
