Margaret (Wilson) Kurta of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on September 30th, 2026. She was 93.

Margaret was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and immigrated with her family to Detroit, Michigan in 1948. A graduate of Romeo High School and Henry Ford Nursing School. She spent her working life as a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Oakland County Public Health Department, and Cheboygan Memorial Hospital in Northern Michigan.

Margaret supported several family members and family friends with nursing care and hospice support throughout her life. She volunteered as an elementary school tutor, worked as an Office Manager at the Kurta family business Vinsetta Garage in Berkley, MI. Margaret completed Michigan State University’s Master Gardening Program, returned to Nursing after retirement, and moved around the country to be near all of her grandchildren as they arrived.

Margaret was known for her warm and welcoming personality. She had an open mind, and fun-loving sense of humor an abundant loving kindness. She is survived by Michael, her husband of 65 years; brother Harry Wilson, and Michael’s and her children Kay, Sue, and Steve, and grandchildren Peter, Anaje and Liani.

No funeral arrangements are planned at this time.
