Love Lives On

Marian Viola (Midge) Rytkonen, 100 years old, peacefully passed away on August 12, 2020 in Cumming, Georgia.

She was born on January 1st, 1920 to Nina Belle Burley and Lee Wyatt in Finley, Ohio. She lived most of her life in Traverse City, Michigan, traveling to Florida during the winter months. Her last years were spent in Cumming, Georgia.

Marian was passionate about people, helping others, dancing, bowling and lemon donuts. She joined the Women’s Auxiliary Army Core (WAAC) during World War II, traveling extensively as a recruiter and gaining fame by being photographed during a recruitment effort at a Native American Reservation. Consequently, she proudly served and was very active at her local VFW post.

Midge will be sorely missed and is survived by her sons Rusty, Mark, AJ and Robert and their families, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
