Marie Kathryn Laughlin, 87 of Traverse City, died Thursday, December 17, 2020.
She was born on April 30, 1933 in Reese the daughter of John Max Joseph and Alma Martha (Wuerfel) Schafsnitz. Marie graduated from Reese High School at the age of 17 years old and married Patrick W. Parrent.
He was a former member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Reese and the Church of the Holy family after the family moved to Grand Blanc. She was very active in the church. Marie enjoyed life and her family and especially her Toy Poodle, Kallie.
Marie is survived by her children, Steven Parrent, Kenneth (Kristy) Parrent, James (Susan) Parrent, Connie Parrent, Kathryn and Michelle VanCoonise; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and sisters, Frances (Joseph) and Sandy.
She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Patrick W. Parrent; second husband, William Laughlin and brother, John Schafsnitz.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Marie’s memory to a Catholic Church of your choice.
Private burial was held in the Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc with her husband, Patrick.
