Marilyn Louise Brown, 94, gained her Angel Wings on April 25, 2025, after several years of battling Alzheimer’s/Dementia disease. She was born June 15, 1930, in Detroit, MI. to Julis and Mary Rohdy.
After her graduation from Traverse City High School she married the late “Brownie” Hollis Brown, they shared 63 years of marriage, traveling the Upper Peninsula and Matlacha, Florida with their good friends Keith and Pauline Aeschliman.
Marilyn had several jobs throughout her lifetime but Burwood’s Products where she was a stainer and many friends was her favorite; she worked there until they closed in the 80’s.
Marilyn was a wonderful cook, everyone loved her home, cookies, cakes, breads, jelly, and beef noodles was a family favorite.
She enjoyed crocheting and made many baby blankets for all the new babies. She also did stamp booking and created beautiful cards. She especially enjoyed any type of family gathering and always participated with a full happy heart and lots of good food. She also loved her little Rose Street House and had great neighbors over the years living there.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter Sandra and husband Dan Scott, her son Ron, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grands and 3 great great grands. She loved them all and was so proud of them. She has 5 living siblings Caryol, Barbara, Roy, Fred and Patricia, who supported her these past difficult months of her life. She has many nieces and nephews who she cared very deeply for.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, “Brownie” her husband, and siblings Fern, Howard, George, Gene, Mary, Bob, Dick and Arlene. What a wonderful celebration for them to all be together again.
The Eulogy will be given by her niece, Jennifer Donahue, Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1pm, followed by sharing and talking about Marilyn by anyone wishing to speak with light food provided until 4pm at Life Story Funeral Home.
