Life Story / Obituary

Marlowe Bonner died August 21, 2021, at age 74 after a short illness, surrounded by loved ones. Marlowe was a devoted husband who was married to his high school sweetheart for 53 years, was an enthusiastic “cool dad”, a dedicated friend to many, a beloved brother, and a fun uncle.

While Marlowe brought his mischievous sense of humor everywhere, he was very serious when it came to making sure that everyone he encountered felt included and valued. His bright, big personality could put anyone at ease in an instant. Marlowe was a voracious reader who also took pleasure in good food, nature and the arts.

Marlowe is survived by his wife, Susanne Bonner, his son Jim Bonner, daughter Jeannie (Dru) Simmons, sister Sharon Hepford, several extended family members, many cherished friends, and cats Mitzi and Molly.

Donations can be made in Marlowe’s memory to the Webber Heart Center at Munson Medical Center: https://www.munsonhealthcare.org/munson-healthcare-foundations/areas-you-can-support/heart-services-support. The family would like to thank the nurses for the extraordinarily skilled and compassionate care they provided.

A celebration of a life well-lived will be held in the fall.
