Matthew James Jordan, born June 9,1976 and taken from us much too soon on January 14, 2022.

Matt’s greatest gift was as a communicator, through written and spoken word. To know him was to have had a conversation, a debate or a pep talk with him. To be his friend was to feel his love and adoration for all those he cared for, and to be his family was truly a gift to never be replaced.

Whether holding a fishing pole, collecting comic books and pop culture, fuming over his beloved Detroit Lions, watching the newest movie with Lindsey, talking science with his son, being the first to hold a baby in the room, or doing anything his daughter asked him to do, he was a bright light that so many loved.

Matt’s greatest joy and accomplishment were his two children, Jackson and Amelia. He found solace in teaching them lasting pieces of his knowledge and character. For that he was as proud as a dad could be of two amazing human beings.

There were many accomplishments throughout his 45 years, in business and in life but his relationships are what stand out as what will feel the greatest loss. Matt leaves behind his wife, Lindsey; children, Jackson and Amelia; father, Jim Jordan; step-mom Karen Jordan; brother, Adam Jordan, uncle, Joe Calverly; father-in-law, Steve Brinks; brother-in-law, Eric Brinks (Erin); nephews, Owen and Aden Brinks, and countless extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 1 pm to 4pm, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Sparks BBQ, 2nd floor event space, 201 East Front St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684.
