Melba Lue Martin, 76, of Traverse City, died peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, January 13, 2024.

She was born on January 31, 1947 in Canton, Ohio the daughter of Albert Clinton and Arlene Eveline (Potter) Edie.

Melba married her husband, Robert, on September 19, 1965, in Benton Harbor and moved to Traverse City in 1969.

Melba retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse in home health care for over 12 years. She later worked at Great Wolf Lodge for over 7 years. Melba was a co-founder and member of the LifePoint Bible Church.

In her free time, she volunteered at Munson Manor. She enjoyed loving her puppies, cooking, crocheting, watching television, and traveling to many places like Florida and Hawaii. In her younger years, she enjoyed snowmobiling and visiting her cabin in Roscommon.

She is survived by her husband; Robert, her son; Robert (Kandi) Martin, her daughter; Robin Tallman, stepchildren; Romain (Nancy) Martin, Vickie Swank, Randy Martin, and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and sister; Sandy (Frankie) Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Jackson.

Memorial Contributions may be made to LifePoint Bible Church. A Celebration of life will be announced in the future.
