Life Story / Obituary
Michael Charles Finnegan 71 of Traverse City formerly of Central Lake died Sunday, December 9, 2012.
He was born on February 18, 1941 in Hancock, Michigan the son of Hennessy and Ruby (Hogan) Finnegan. Michael was a Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era.
Michael was a retired carpenter. Michael enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He also liked watching sports; especially Notre Dame and Chicago teams. Michael was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting and fishing and was an outstanding Artist.
Michael is survived by his son, Sean (Catherine Bramer) Finnegan; daughters, Karen (Shawn Murdock) Finnegan, Kathleen (Ken) Burman and Shannon (Brian) McGuire; grandchildren, Chris, Caleb, Aren, Cody, Ty, Max and Cam and step-brother, Curtis Menard
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hennessy and Ruby Finnegan; sisters, Evelyn Olm, Marian Graetzer and step-brother Donald Menard.
Cremation has taken place. An informal gathering to celebrate his life will be held 2pm, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the home he shared with his son, Sean Finnegan, 377 Keystone Dr., Traverse City. A brief military service will be held at 2:30pm.
