Milton D Irish, 85, of Traverse City, passed away April 29, 2021. Born Oct. 25, 1935 in Traverse City to Katherine (Dalzell) and Clifford Irish.

He graduated from Traverse City Central High School class of 1953 he also attended Northwestern Michigan Community College earning an accounting degree. Milton held many diverse jobs in his lifetime from being an accountant for a packing company in Frankfort, engaging in residential properties acquiring Laundromats Eastfield and Westfield in Traverse City and the Mayfield Inn. After his entrepreneur days he drove over the road for CTX and locally for Bay Area Transportation Association "BATA".

Milton's family was always important to him; he is survived by his sons, Jim (Anita) Irish, Jay (Barb) Irish, Jody (Iris) Irish, John Irish and Joyce Irish mother to Jody and John. His lifetime partner, Linda Puffer; and her children, Lisa Woodcox, Todd (Michelle) Puffer, Nicole (Troy) Holliday; step-children who he loved as his own, Randy Kalbfleisch, Kimberly Kalbfleisch Boutell, Becky (Doug) Schaub, Rob (Shannon) Kalbfleisch, Joe (Michelle) Kalbfleisch and Jeff (Eddie) Kalbfleisch and their mother, Sandi Irish Sanford; his three sisters, Mary Plamondon, Joann Synder and Judy (Don) Murphy; and also survived by many nieces; nephews; cousins; and numerous friends.

Milton enjoyed many things from remodeling and building homes, watching the Detroit Tigers and was an avid bowler for over 55 years winning many trophies. His favorite gathering place was Randy's Diner where he would run into many of his friends and discuss old times. He was a member of the Antique Automotive Association of America.

Milton's children and grandchildren where his priority as many new him as "Papa" and they could count on him for any type of support. Milton was blessed with 41 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Milton was proceeded in death by his parents, Katherine and Clifford Irish; his sister, Maxine; brothers, Bert, Lester, Richard and Bernie, Janice Irish, mother to Jim and Jay; and three grandsons, Justin Irish, Tyson Kalbfleisch and Blake Schaub.

Milton will truly be missed. His love, understanding, and continued support to many family and friends will always be in their hearts. Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Diabetes Association or Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter of Grand Traverse

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Living Hope Church.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at Life Story Funeral Home. A limited number of people can be in the building at one time. Masks are required at all times with social distancing. Please pay your respects, say hello to the family and allow others to come into the building.
