Nieko Lee Soper, 28, of Buckley, died unexpectedly, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his home.

He was born on November 8, 1992 at the Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital the son of James Joseph Soper and Andrea Gary (Soper).

Nieko was employed as a Car Detail Technician for Serra Subaru and previously at Professional Tool, Traverse City and McDonalds.

He was a member of the Cherryland VFW Post #2780 Auxiliary in Traverse City.

Nieko enjoyed site seeing, hiking, traveling, tattoos, music, movies, gaming, his friends, having Wednesday night dinners with his Dad, Jim. He was known for drawing most of the time and spending time with friends and his niece.

Nieko is survived by his mother, and step-father, Andrea and Steven Schmidt, sister, Dallas Haist of Wyoming; his grandparents, Wanda VanderLey, Susan and Rodney Schmidt of Michigan and his uncles, Brian and Barney Gary of Michigan.

Nieko is also survived by his father and step-mother, Jim and Bridget Soper of Kingsley, siblings, James and Kolie Soper of Ravenna, MI, Orianna M. Payberg of Traverse City, Tristyn and Enola Soper of Kingsley; his Grandma’s, Sheila Pickard of Kingsley and Judy Soper of Cadillac; niece, Ravyn Jean Soper of Ravenna; aunts; a lot of cousins and best friends.

He is preceded in death by his; grandfather, James E. Soper; uncles, Terry Lee Soper and Joe Schmidt; two aunts and all great-grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 3484 Jackson Rd. Kingsley, MI 49649.
