Oliver Andrew Hobson of Traverse City passed away on October 29, 2017

Oliver was born August 12, 1971 to Ott and Patricia (Fritz) Hobson in Traverse City. He graduated from Benzie Central High School and moved through life as a wonderful, caring person and devoted father. Oliver developed close connections with those around him, and nurtured his relationships with selflessness and a brilliant sense of humor. He loved playing video games with his daughters and listening to music, especially classic rock and Pink Floyd. Oliver was a dedicated fan of Michigan State and the Detroit Redwings, Lions, and Tigers.

Oliver is survived by his loving daughters Megan and Allison Hobson of Gaithersburg Maryland, his parents Ott and Patricia Hobson, brother, Jason (Sunya) Hobson and nieces Madeline and Savannah Hobson. He is also survived by his grandmother Dolores Fritz and many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He also leaves behind his cats and faithful companions Tigger and Cinnamon.

Oliver is preceded in death by his grandparents Ogden and Donna Hobson and Frederick Fritz, and his aunt Kathryn (Fritz) Reicha.

The family wishes to thank the staff and doctors at the Munson Medical Center Intensive Care Unit and the staff at Neuro-Restorative in Traverse City and Northville, Michigan for their dedication and support. The family extends a special thank you to Oliver's guardians Arnie and Gail Budin for their years of loving advocacy and mentoring.

A memorial service for Oliver will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Bayview Wesleyan Church. Visitation for friends will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be sent to Ott & Pat Hobson in order to help further Oliver's girls' education.
