Orell “Jack” Shaw III, Age 64, of Lake Ann, died October 1, 2018. He was born in Mt. Olympia, Washington, on May 9, 1954 the son of Orell Shaw Jr. and Billie Jean (Cramer) Shaw.

Jack worked as an optician for many years in the Lansing area. He also worked as a carpenter in Lansing and Traverse City. He could build anything and love working with wood. Jack enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling with family and friends.

He is survived by one brother, Jason L. (Anita) Shaw; niece, Alexus J. Shaw and nephew, Zachary E. Shaw all of Sharon S.C.; sister, Alisa M. Shaw and nephew, Joshua E. Schweifler both of Lansing; uncle, Glenn (Bethany) Alward and his aunt, Barbara Olger of Lansing. He had many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his late father, Orell Shaw Jr. of Lansing, and his late mother Billie J. (Shaw) Gardner of Traverse City.

Funeral Services will be held 1pm, Monday, October 8, 2018 at the new location for Life Story Funeral Home, 400 Hammond Rd. W., Traverse City with Rev. Gary Hogue officiating. The family will greet friends starting at 11:30 am. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City.
