Traverse City – Patricia Ann Bristol, 85 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was born on September 2, 1937 in Highland Park, Michigan the daughter of William S. Sybrandt and Olive Eller Sybrandt.

'Pat' retired from the Traverse City Record Eagle as Classified Advertising Manager. In addition she was previously employed at Michigan Bell as a switchboard operator. Also early on she worked at the Sandwich Grille where she met the love of her life her husband, John Joseph Bristol.

She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, reading, playing cards, crossword puzzles, country western shows and dancing the Polka with her husband. 'Pat' cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known for watching movies with them and making popcorn and her very special chocolate malts. Early on she was known to many as “Sarge” a nickname that stuck with her but was shared with love. She was a member of First Christian Church and attended Central Christian Church in Mt. Dora, Florida. She loved singing the old hymns. 'Pat's' life was filled with faith of which brought her comfort and strength. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 383 in Traverse City.

'Pat' is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Joseph Bristol; daughter, Cynthia (Gary) Walters; son, John Joseph (Karen) Bristol, Jr.; daughter, Jacqueline Bristol Wyatt; son, Michael (Betty) Bristol; sister, Barbara Caldwell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren together with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; Ingrid Lewis and grandson, Matthew Scott Schwartz.

Memorial service will be held at Life Story Funeral Home, 400 Hammond Road West, Traverse City, MI on Thursday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. before the service. The Bristol family would like to thank Munson Hospice, especially Nurse Angie for the care and compassion she showed to 'Pat' and family in her finale days. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
