Patricia Strong

Patricia Louise Strong (Bohn) lost her long 10 year fight with cancer on Friday, January 6th, 2012 in Munson’s Hospice House in Traverse City.

Pat was born August 4, 1936 at Munson Hospital in Traverse City Mi. Most of her life was spent in Traverse City where she graduated from Central High School in 1954. She went on to attend Ferris University where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Beta sorority. She graduated from Ferris in 1956. Pat married Denny Strong on June 21, 1961. Among her early careers she was an Executive Secretary, and hosted her own Talk Radio Show. Later she assisted her husband in several businesses. Pat’s last career was in the Image Business; Weight Watchers, Color Me Beautiful and Doncaster among others.

Pat was a member and elder of Faith Reformed Church. She was also active in Zonta for many years, and a supporter of the Traverse City Symphony Orchestra. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. Her favorite activities included gatherings, special occasions, social events, traveling, picnics, dancing and water aerobics.

Pat was passionate about her family and her savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Her many friends were very special to her; she knew no strangers. She was a loving, caring, giving person to those she knew and to those she didn’t know. She was preceded in death by her infant son, her father Jerry Bohn, and mother Beatrice (Phelps, Bohn) Horn.

Surviving is her Husband of 50 years Denny Strong, her Brother Ron Bohn of Traverse City, her step-father, Orville Horn, her daughter Lori (Dan) Pott, Son Scott Strong (Mark Icenhower) of Florida, Son Jeff Strong (Chantelle) of Mesick, six grand children, Linsey (Ryan) Buteyn, Brandon Pott, Charles, Lexie, William, and Donovan Strong and several cousins.

Pat is now in Heaven with her Lord Jesus Christ and with those who went before her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, January 12, at Faith Reformed Church 1139 East Front Street, Traverse City Michigan. The family will greet friends at 12 noon.
