Paul Arrow Ahlstrom, 71 of Horton died Thursday, January 24 at Cherry Hill Haven, Traverse City. Paul was born on February 23, 1941 to Warren and A. Jayne Ahlstrom. Paul taught biology for over forty years at Hanover-Horton High School, affecting the lives of many students with his tough classes and crazy antics. He also owned a garage door business for many years. Paul loved God and he loved people. He liked a seat at the family table of any local restaurant, a roaring campfire, and a tractor show with friends. Paul enjoyed his time in Florida each Christmas. Paul was a Gideon and a member of Ganson Street Baptist Church for many years. Paul is survived by Colleen, his wife of 47 years, his children, Troy Ahlstrom (Sibel) of Traverse City, Heather Jose (Larry) of Lake Isabella, and Josh Ahlstrom (Brooke) of Noblesville, Indiana. He was was loved by his six grandchildren, Sydney, Lily, Ty, Kellen, Cade, and Ansley. The family would like to thank Johnny and Jerome for their amazing love and care as well as Hospice of Michigan and Cherry Hill Haven. Because of you Paul enjoyed every day. An informal gathering with the family will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Ganson Street Baptist Church, Jackson. A Celebration of Paul's life will be held 11:00 am, Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Ganson Street Baptist Church, Jackson. Contributions can be made to CurePSP.org or CurePSP, 30 E.
