Life Story / Obituary
Paul W. Burke was a quiet man who kept to himself. He passed away peacefully at age 50 while at home surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with cancer.
Paul attended Walled Lake Schools and moved to Traverse City with the love of his life Markelle Norberg in 1998. They married shortly thereafter on April 24, 1999.
Paul started working as a carpenter and then 17 years ago went into lumber sales at Builders FirstSource. Paul and Markelle also have owned Cherryland Floral for the past 22 years. Paul's great sense of humor was loved by so many, with his larger than life stature that would light up a room.
The biggest moment of Paul’s life was when his daughter Daisy Barbara was born, March 2006.
Paul lived life to the fullest. Time for getaways and vacations was very important to him. His favorite past times were camping, rock picking, scratch off lottery tickets, gardening, estate sales and bad jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Markelle; daughter, Daisy; mother, MaryAnn Burke; siblings, Henry McNab, Deborah (Leo) Daignault, Robert McNab, Evelyn McNab, Christe Burke, father and mother-in-law, George and Patricia Norberg; brothers-in-law, George (Ali) Norberg, Curt (Debbie) Norberg; and many nieces and nephews.
Please bring a rock to add to Paul's Rock Garden that he had collected on his past time getaways.
Paul had requested a "Party" in his honor which will be held 3pm to 7pm, Saturday May 22, 2021 at his home, 11955 Rose Rd, Buckley.
