Pauline Joan Alley, 82, of Interlochen, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021 at her home with her family. She was born on Feb. 28, 1939 in Detroit the daughter of Albert and Catherine (Lucier) Myrold.

She was a nurse throughout her career at various hospitals and nursing homes in Detroit and Traverse City.

She was passionate about Right to Life and was a church volunteer. Pauline enjoyed knitting, quilting, reading, playing piano, biking, working out and traveling. She loved all of her standard poodles, feeding the homeless, building the labyrinth at their home, and reading all the visitor notes.

Pauline met her husband, Robert Alley on her ninth day of a Novena. She had a strong unwavering faith that followed her into her peace. The Blessed Mother was always her guiding light, in good times and bad. "I'll say a novena for you," was a first thought when someone she knew was facing times of trouble or despair.

Pauline had many endearing statements, "Granny's got you all wrapped up" was a wonderful blessing for her own kids caring for their newborns and young children. "When you come up you can paint a rock" for the labyrinth. "I've fought the fight, I've kept the faith, and oh how I hate this purse!" "In the end only one thing counts." faith, of course!

Pauline, Mom, Granny, you will be dearly missed by all and will always be with us in spirit.

Pauline is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Alley, married on June 3, 1977 in Wayne; children, Margaret (Greg), Paula (John), Lamona (Bernie Sr), Michael (deceased) (Sharon), Kimball, Bridget, Marty (Trina), Bernadette (Tony) and Maria (Carey); grandchildren; Bernie Jr (Krissy), Trena, Trisha (Jason), Michael (Ashley), Kyle (Catherine), Jessica (Michael), Melanie (Eric), Alexander (deceased), Travis, Carmen, Jacob, Sierra (Chris), Mason, Nicholas, Jacob, Brett and Christopher; as well as great-grandchildren, Austin (deceased), Chase, Gabe, Cole, Graham, Henry, Rory, Clark and Piper.
