Philip Fritts born in Detroit, MI and grew up Grand Rapids, MI, passed away March 13th 2023 at age 59 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Phil was an eccentric man of many talents. He was a Restaurant Chef for many years until he found his new passion and started his own residential painting business. In his last days he said, “I want to be remembered as an artist not a painter.” and that he was. All his clients spoke highly of his work and many have become lifelong friends. He always was eager to lend a helping hand for those in need. He was an active member in the Traverse City community, taking part in local music events, helping the homeless, volunteering at the NMC Community College Radio Station. Philip was always finding ways to support the community that he loved so much.

Philip was the son of Mary Jane Fritts Delgrosso, a brother to Joy Osterloh (brother-in law, George Osterloh), Robert Fritts, Cynthia Fritts (brother-in-law, John Sirmeyer) and father to Egan Fritts, his only son. He loved spending time with all his nieces and nephews. Uncle Phil planned many great adventures, especially camp-outs on Spider Lake Island. The family can’t thank the support of his friends that were able to support him in his final days, especially his buddy, Rob, who would make music playlists and listen to his favorite’s.

The love that Philip showed for his community stemmed from his love for his family. He will be deeply missed but never once forgotten. Please share any memories at Life Story Funeral Homes, Traverse City’s website at www.lifestorytc.com. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Philip Fritts name to NMC Radio station or to Safe Harbor Homeless Shelter. Traverse City .
