Ramon Ramirez

Ramon Ramirez Junior, age 68 of Buckley, Michigan passed away surrounded by his family on February 21, 2026.

He was born on December 20, 1957 in Greenville, Michigan. Ramon Jr. was the son of Ramon and Mary Ramirez. After serving in the United States Air Force, Ramon met the love of his life, Elizabeth Gregg Martin while attending college in Lansing, Michigan. They established their home and raised four children together in Buckley, Michigan, where Ramon maintained a small hobby farm focused on providing healthy home-grown food for his family. Ramon, the owner of Ramon’s Electric Company for 30+ years, worked as a Master Electrician in the Traverse City area.

Ramon had his mother’s heart. His kind nonjudgemental acceptance of others attracted many lifelong friends. His generosity was evident by his willingness to help those in need, and his ability to see the best in everyone. He loved the outdoors, nature, and hunting. He built a deer camp where he and his hunting friends could gather. Ramon enjoyed playing golf as well as traveling and bird watching with his wife, Betsy. Ramon will best be remembered for his deep love of his family, his quick wit and his strong work ethic.

Ramon is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Betsy”, his children Danielle Elizabeth Ramirez (Joe Shipman), Ramon Miguel Ramirez (Jessica Parent), Anthony Martin Ramirez (Bree Willey), Amanda Leigh Ramirez (Rolex Fenelus) and grandchildren; Connor, Dolan, Karsten, Aydia, Everleigh, and Oliver “cuatro”. He is survived by his 90-year-old father, Ramon Ramirez Sr.; sisters, Rose Ramirez (John vanSchagen), Betty Lou Cottle (John) and brother, Roger Ramirez (Judy) and sister-in-law Laura Hehl (Scott).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Ramirez, his brother Ricardo Vidal and his lifelong friend, Mike Heaton.

A memorial will be held on Thursday, March, 5th with visitation starting at 2pm and a sit down service at 4pm at Life Story Funeral Home at 400 W Hammond Rd. Traverse City, MI.
