Richard A. Carpenter (86) passed away on September 30, 2023, at Bay Ridge Assisted Living. He was born in Traverse City on October 25, 1937, to Arthur and Iris (Jordan) Carpenter.
Richard served in the Army and worked for many years as a lineman for Michigan Bell.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Douglas) LaBelle of Charlevoix, and his son, Michael (Sarah) Carpenter of Interlochen. Also surviving are his grandson, Davis LaBelle of Petoskey; brother, Robert (Lynda) Carpenter and sister, Sharon (Richard) Hill of Traverse City, and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother’s; Terry and Edward Carpenter and sister, Beverly Schwenter.
Private burial will be held at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
