Robert Badour

Robert Ray Badour 73 of Rapid City died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility.

Bob was born on March 5, 1940 in Flint the son of Herbert and Mildred (Jones) Badour.

Bob worked in his young years for Clark Oil Company, leasing and tending a station of his own. He then became a District Manager and supervised over 14 stations for Clark Oil in the Detroit area. As his family was growing he moved back to the Flint area and joined General Motors; working in hourly and salaried positions. He was fortunate enough to retire at the age of 52 and he and his wife, Phyllis moved to Rapid City around the beautiful lakes. He was a member of the Flint Masonic Lodge #490 for over 40 years.

Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Plamondon) Badour of Rapid City; children, Michael Badour and Susan Badour of Louisville, KY, Virginia (Chris) Cream of Grand Blanc and Jon Badour of Wyoming, MI; grandchildren, Nicholas and Melaine Badour of Lapeer and Caleb Badour of Wyoming, MI, sister, Marilyn (John) Ferguson of Wooster, OH; nieces and nephews; stepchildren, Bill Pemberton and Tracy Pemberton of Grand Blanc, Tammy Minton of St. Clair Shores; step-grandchildren, Brett, Billy, Clay, Travis and Erica, sisters-in-law, Carol Miller of Frederick, Dorothy (Gale) Young, Jacqueline Coyne and Teresa Cicalo all of Rapid City and Ruth Plamondon of Lapeer and and former wife, Sharon Badour.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert Scott Badour; brother, Bill Cabal and sister-in-law, Beverly Sites.

A gathering for family and friends will be held 10am to 2pm, Monday, July 22, 2013 at the Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City, with a funeral service following at 2pm. Cremation will follow.
