Life Story / Obituary
Robert M. Fedorinchik, “Bob,” passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City, Michigan. He was 82.
Born in Detroit on December 8, 1942, Bob was the beloved son of the late Virgil and Martha Fedorinchik. He was a proud graduate of Cass Technical High School and served his country for seven years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Empire, MI—a place that would cement his love for Northern Michigan.
Bob was a lifelong entrepreneur and builder. In 1977 he founded his family business, Hallmark Construction, which he later sold. Through Hallmark and his other entrepreneurial activities, he left an enduring mark on the Grand Traverse area. As a former President of the Grand Traverse Home Builders Association, he envisioned and led the team that built the “Home In A Day,” a remarkable feat (and Guinness world record at the time) raffled off during the 1984 National Cherry Festival.
Bob is survived by his three loving sisters—Barbara Amormino, Audrey Ruggiero, and Nancy Fedorinchik—his two sons, Brett (Aimee) Fedorinchik and Greg (Hilary) Fedorinchik, as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom were the greatest joys of his life.
Known for his gregarious spirit and sharp wit, Bob often brought life to the party. He was a true friend and character, eager to listen, not judging, and always ready with sage advice or a relatable story. He found solace and inspiration in golf and in the outdoors, particularly the natural beauty and wildlife of Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, where he traveled often. In Traverse City, he never stopped marveling at the beauty of the bay.
A celebration of Bob’s life was held on July 27th while he was still with us, giving friends and family the rare gift of honoring him in person.
Those wishing to honor Bob’s memory are encouraged to make a donation to Munson Healthcare Foundations in Traverse City, MI in his memory – specifically in support of the Munson Hospice House that gave him and his family so much comfort in his final weeks.
