Robert Kelderhouse

Robert Dennis Kelderhouse Sr. was born in Battle Creek, MI on March 26, 1950 to Floyd and Lamoine (Kidd) Kelderhouse. They moved to Traverse City where Bob resided until his death on January 8, 2020.

Bob was married on April 19, 1980 to Sharon Weinrick at Bayview Wesleyan Church and spent nearly 40 years together. Bob loved helping others as he worked as a tow truck driver at Ward Eaton Towing. Bob also worked behind the bar at J &G Lanes, as a bartender at the Veterans for Foreign Wars, and parts specialist at Carquest.

Bob loved working on cars and could always be found working on a project in his garage, looking through hot rod magazines or watching the car races on TV. Bob also loved being outdoors and especially fishing. He collected model trains, tow truck toys and assorted tools. He was excited to spend as much time with grandchildren and great grandchildren as he possibly could.

Bob passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife Sharon Kelderhouse of Traverse City; his five children, Robert Kelderhouse Jr of Traverse City, Michael Kelderhouse of the Upper Peninsula, Tina (Schneider-Kelderhouse) and Michael Allen of Traverse City, Denise Kelderhouse of Buckley, and Benjamin and Nicole Schneider-Kelderhouse of Harrisburg, NC; three grandchildren, Dustin Drake, Garion Schneider and Makayla Drake and two great-grandchildren, Cianna Drake and Lillian Drake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lamoine Kelderhouse.

A memorial for Bob will be held in the spring for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions to Life Story Funeral Home to help cover cremation costs or to Heartland Hospice.
