Robert “Bob” Mosher gained his wings to heaven on December 21, 2023, after a six-month struggle with an untreatable blood infection, stroke, and dementia.

He was born in Bay City, MI to Russell and Frances (Little) Mosher. Bob grew up on the family farm north of Midland where he raised his horses and helped on his grandparents' farm with his brothers.

Bob was a 1962 graduate of Midland High School where he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Kathleen Kobel. They married and had two very successful children, Robert “Scott” and Kendra Ann. He was always so proud of them and all they had accomplished.

Over the years, after moving the family to Traverse City, Bob participated in many local organizations. He was one of the founding leaders in the former T C Trail Travelers Snowmobile Club. Bob owned several campers and went to many camping groups before joining family members at Sandy Shores Resort in Clare County for 16 years. He was one of the longest and older members of the Grawn United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years.

Bob loved to watch all the NFL games, NASCAR Races, Discovery, and History Channels. He could hardly wait until November 15th to go deer hunting with his brothers Howard and Duane and friends Bruce and Gordon. Taking Gordon ice fishing at Crystal Lake was also special since Gordon was deaf and they learned so much from each other.

Bob retired from Progress Printers in 2005 where he made many friends and worked in a Christian environment making for an enjoyable workday. Winters in Brownsville, TX followed retirement as he and Kathy enjoyed the warm weather and made many new friends. Due to health issues, the spring of 2020 was the last year in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard (Treva and Rosemary), special in-laws Clifford and Marie Kobel, Keith and Sally Kobel and their son David, and Kenneth W. Kobel.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy, son, Scott (Annette), daughter, Kendra (Steve) Brooks, brother, R. Duane (Kathy), and sister Charlene (Greg) Johnson; grandchildren, Stevie Q. Brooks (Dan Mimnaugh), Ryan Kaye (Bonstihl) Bourne, Rylee Brooks, and Logan Mosher; great-grandchildren, Zofia, Lilianne, Shealynn, August, Connor, Salem, and Maverick; special supportive friends, Chuck and Maryann Tabb, Tom and Katie Richter, Jerry and Maureen Warren; plus many more friends, nieces, and nephews who were helpful during Bob’s illness.

The family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at the Grand Traverse Pavilions and Hospice of Michigan for caring for Bob and Vaughn Seavolt at Life Story Funeral Home for his guidance.

Donations may be made to Grawn United Methodist Church or Hospice of Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Grawn United Methodist Church, 1260 S. West Silver Lake Rd. Traverse City 49684. Visitation will start at 11:00 am.
