Ronald G. Hardley 69 of Traverse City died February 24, 2013.

He was born January 21, 1944 in Pontiac Michigan the son of Walter Arnold and Virginia (Gaynor) Hardley.

Ronald graduated from Traverse City Senior High School in 1962 and attended Northwestern Michigan Collage with Flying Certificates. Ronald was a United States Veteran serving in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was in Civil Air Patrol in high school. During his career as a jet pilot, he flew UPS & Emery Air Freight both nationally and internationally.

On June 19, 1965 at he married Peggy Jean Waukazoo at the East Bay Calvary Church, Traverse City.

He was the Founding Chairman of the Board for Interlochen Bible Church and was the Grand Traverse County Chairman for the 1970, March of Dimes. Ronald was known as a sports announcer for WPBN TV.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Peggy Jean (Waukazoo) Hardley; son Perry G. Hardley (Carol Slottke); grandson: Kevin Michael Hardley; siblings, Robert (Dory) Merrill Hardley (Jill), Aaron (Barbara), Philip (DiDi) Hardley and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents W. Arnold and Virginia; brothers, Ted and Gary; sister, Janet Bullard, grandson, Luke Daniel.

Per his wishes, cremation will be taken place. A celebration gathering for friends will be held at 1pm Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Life Story Funeral Home. A memorial service will start at 2pm.
