Sarah Trainer

Sarah A Trainer, 54, of Traverse City died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home.

She was born on May 11, 1958 in Detroit the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Glynn) Stanley.

Sarah was a CENA who during her career worked at Tendercare of Traverse City, Grand Traverse Pavilions and East Bay AIS Home. She had a special fondness for the residents she cared for and treated them as family.

She enjoyed coffee, antiques, music, TV, movies, bird watching and teaching her Chihuahua Spike to harmonize with her harmonica. Sarah enjoyed reading the Bible and was a very strong Christian who loved Jesus.

Sarah was a selfless woman; giving to others before giving to herself. She liked to help troubled young children, often feeding them at her home. Sarah was non-judgmental and supporting others with open arms.

She loved her husband, children and grandchildren.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Scott R. Trainer; they married on April 7, 1995; her children, Joseph (Robin) Dowdy, Theresa Drake and Eric Trainer all of Traverse City; grandchildren, Whitney, Mariah, Adam, Isaac, Emily, Carter and Quentin; parents, Theresa and Gordon MacArthur of Tawas; brothers, Don (Debra) Stanley of Interlochen, Tim (Susan) Stanley and Chris MacArthur both of Sterling Height. She is preceded in death by her biological father, Joseph Stanley.

Memorial Services will be held 11 am, Saturday March 2, 2013 at the Central United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends starting at 10am.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Sarah A. Trainer Memorial Fund, c/o Members Credit Union, Traverse City to help with funeral expenses.
