Sarahanne Louise Groesser passed away on December 30th 2024 at the loving home of her guardians in Kingsley MI following a battle with cancer. Sarah was 31 years old.
Sarah was Born on May 13, 1993 in Southfield MI to the late Paul Groesser and Pam Tinsley.
From birth, Sarah battled Cerebral Palsy with a sweet spirit and infectious smile. She lived in the Traverse City area the entirety of her life and was blessed to be cared for by her Grandparents Phil Groesser and the late Karen Groesser at their home on Island Lake until 2020. In 2020, Sarah moved to the home of her guardians Janice and Gary Slater who had been a major part of Sarah’s life since a toddler. The Slater family accepted Sarah as one her own and assisted with Sarah’s care for over 27 years and until the time of her passing.
Sarah is survived by her Grandfather Phil Groesser and his wife Lea Groesser (Pinckney) of Traverse City, Uncle Chris and wife Kari and their children Madelyn, Owen, Lily and Ella of Rochester Hills, MI, the extended Slater family and their network of friends along with many cousins and special friends throughout the Traverse City area.
Sarah loved being with others and made those around her smile with her pleasant personality. She enjoyed her time at Life Skills school, Grand Traverse Industries, New Hope Community Church’s Hope Camp and the special needs classroom and the Bambi Lake Family Camp. The supportive people at these facilities and Sarah created many lasting relationships.
Sarah enjoyed her time at church and attended the Church of the Living God in Traverse City for over 20 yrs. and most recently had been attending New Hope Community Church in Williamsburg. Over the years and in each Church, Sarah was blessed by many, and she blessed them back with her joy and love.
A memorial service celebrating Sarah’s life will held on January 4, 2025, at New Hope Community Church, Youth Center Building, 5100 Bethesda Ct., Williamsburg, MI starting at 11:00am followed by lunch and visitation. The family will greet friends starting at 10:00am. Burial will take place at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Suttons Bay in the spring.
