Sheila Anderson

Sheila A. Anderson, 55, of Traverse City, died on Saturday, March 23, 2023 at the Munson Hospice House.

She was born on September 20, 1968 in Traverse City the daughter of James B. and Jeanette A. (McDonald) Anderson. She was raised by her father and stepmother, Karon J. Blakeslee.

After high school she attended Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste Marie.

She worked in Customer Service, Administration and was a Cook and Kitchen Manager at the Goodwill Inn. Her favorite job was teaching Skiing at Mt. Holiday and Boyne Highlands.

Sheila loved to help others, especially those who wanted to help themselves. She enjoyed Golfing, Skiing, Snowboarding, Bike Rides, Boating, Swimming and floating in the Water. She later enjoyed Reading, Writing and Gardening and most of all staying in contact with family and friends.

Sheila is survived by her brother, Joe (Michelle) Anderson, and niece, Summer, brother, Rob (Susan) Grody, aunts and uncles, Margaret Deveueax, Lucille Conley, Caryl (Wayne) Stites, Lawrance (Margaret) Anderson, Ron Coyne, Penelope “Dinny” Justice, Joyce (Mike) Gmoser, Sandy Stone (Kevin Ellis) and an incredible pack of the greatest cousins ever! She is also survived by her long-term friend, Bill W. and her significant other, Gary Cartwright.

She is preceded in death by her father, stepmother, and mother.

A Celebration of life will be held in July and details will be shared with family and friends.
