Ted Allen Boomer, 61, of Traverse City, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was born on May 22, 1963 in Traverse City the son of Gordon Wayne and Mary Margaret (Cox) Boomer.

Ted attended St. Francis Catholic School and later received his GED before graduation. He started working with his father at a young age in the family business, Cool-it Ice Company and Bud’s Refrigeration. Ted drove the Ice Truck and was the Manager for Cool-it Ice Company and was a service technician for Bud’s Refrigeration.

Ted and his wife, Sandie have been together since age 17 and were married in Traverse City. They were members of Christ the King Catholic Church, Acme. He enjoyed music and singing. Ted was the lead singer for Classic Rock with the band, Shotgun. He also liked to hunt and being a family man was important to him. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Ted is survived by his wife, Sandie (Lucas) Boomer; daughter, Sara (Michael) Taylor; grandchildren, Trenton and Laura Taylor; parents, Gordon “Bud” and Mary Margaret “Peggy” Boomer; siblings, Tom (Lori) Boomer, Tim (Lynda) Boomer and Troy (Tara) Boomer, and seventeen close nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Todd and Tony Boomer, nephew, Travis Boomer and sister-in-law, Julie Boomer.
