A man of strong faith, Theodore W. Godt, 80, of Traverse City died Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born January 31, 1943 in Alpena, the son of the late Ewald and Gerda Godt.

Ted graduated from Alcona High School and then attended college in Alpena. He proudly served in the Marine Corps. He married his wife Delia on April 19, 1983. Following his military service, he began working at General Motors where he retired as a Quality Control Technician. After retiring, Ted then owned a used car lot.

He enjoyed deer hunting, taking trips on his motorcycle, walking, and spending time with his family. Ted also enjoyed his church fellowship. He liked anything to do with cars and really enjoyed going to all types of car shows.

Ted is survived by his wife, Delia Godt; his children, Cynthia (Kent) Kilner, Dara (Charles) Parkhurst, Jason Godt, Crystal Jewel, and Timothy Jewel; his 12 grandkids; and his 13 great-grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ewald Godt and Elizabeth Gerda (Reimer) Godt; and his brothers, Siegfried Godt and Armin Godt.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Monday, June 5, 2023 at New Hope Community Church with family greeting friends at 1pm.

Memorial Contributions may be made to New Hope Community Church Missions.
